Affidavit of Non Prosecution

I’ve installed SiteMeter to monitor my traffic (or lack thereof).

One of the most popular Google searches that lands me readers is “affidavit of non prosecution form.”

You are probably trying to get a domestic violence case dismissed.

There is no AONP form on this site. Even if there was an AONP does not mean the DA has to drop the case.

Victims often think they can press charges or drop charges against a defendant. Only the prosecutor has that authority.

My advise to those of you wanting to help your loved one is to talk to an attorney. Pro se criminal defense practice is fraught with peril.

For my perspective as an ex-DA here is an earlier post.

Let me suggest you also sign up for Google Analytics (and if you don’t already, also personalize your Google News reader – once you create a Google account you can do all of it). I recently added it and find the free Google Analytics gives more useful data than the expanded version of SiteMeter you pay for, FWIW. That said, a) the data are slightly different and I don’t know why, so it’s worth doing both, and b) some external blog measuring programs rely on SiteMeter data and your blog benefits indirectly from being included in such analyses. So I’d suggest installing the free version only of both SiteMeter AND using Google Analytics. best,
