FBI Moves To Stop NY Governor From Paying For Sex
The Governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer, has been implicated in a prostitution ring. The only shocking thing is that Mr. Spitzer is not a family values Republican.
The real scandal is that federal prosecutors and FBI agents have been wasting time busting these Johns. Is the threat of Eliot Spitzer paying for sex so great that we must use the FBI to stop him? Did we catch all the terrorists?
Like David Vitter before, I doubt Mr. Spitzer will face charges.
Finally, no political arrest comes without hypocrisy. From the NYT-
In 2004, Mr. Spitzer spoke with revulsion and anger after announcing the arrest of 16 people for operating a high-end prostitution ring out of Staten Island.“”This was a sophisticated and lucrative operation with a multitiered management structure,” Mr. Spitzer said at the time. ”It was, however, nothing more than a prostitution ring.”
